Guatapé Day Trip
We will gather at the designated meeting point in Medellín based on your selection and set off towards the east. The journey to Guatapé will take around two and a half hours, during which you will savor the stunning mountainous scenery of eastern Antioquia.
En route, we will pause for breakfast and refreshments, and pay a visit to a farm where you can engage with llamas, fish, horses, and various other animals.
After spending 1.5 hours at the farm, we'll resume our journey to the renowned Piedra del Peñol, also referred to as El Peñón of Guatapé. This colossal monolith rises over 200 meters (656 feet) above the surrounding terrain.
You will enjoy an hour and a half of leisure time here, giving you the chance to ascend to the summit of the Rock. Climbing the 740 steps offers extraordinary panoramic views over the stunning Peñol Reservoir beneath.
Feeling hungry? We will stop at a nearby establishment to relish a traditional lunch featuring three delightful dish options. Once your hunger is satisfied, prepare for a rumbero boat ride across the Peñol reservoir. For 40 minutes, enjoy a lively atmosphere with music while admiring the remarkable surroundings, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Colombia's natural beauty.
The concluding segment of your day will involve a guided walking exploration of Guatapé. During this tour of the picturesque colonial town, we will uncover its most significant landmarks and monuments, including the Church of Our Lady of Carmen and the vibrant Plaza de los Zócalos. Following this, you will have an hour of free time to wander through the town at your own pace.
After completing the tour of Guatapé, we will return to Medellín, concluding a full day of exploration.
