Discover picturesque municipalities like Marinilla and El Peñol, and enjoy a delightful boat ride - it's destined to be a fulfilling day!

Tour Overview

Our adventure kicks off at the scheduled meeting point on Calle 9. From this location, we will traverse through Antioquia, visiting Marinilla, El Peñol, and Alto del Chocho along the way.

To begin our journey, we will pass through the stunning Antioquia tunnel, notable for being the longest in Colombia and one of the most extensive in Latin America. Our first destination is the enchanting town of Marinilla, recognized as the agricultural heart of Medellín.

In Marinilla, we will partake in a delightful tasting session featuring strawberries sourced from local farms, steeped in centuries of tradition. Next, we will travel to El Alto del Chocho, where further culinary delights await - savoring a flavorful pan bobo complemented by a traditional chocolate beverage.

Continuing our exploration, we will head to El Peñol. Here, we will admire the impressive statue that marks the village's entrance while enjoying the unique taste of tree tomatoes served with sweet panela. Welcome to Colombia's beloved tomato town!

Our adventure then leads us to Guatapé, where we will take a peaceful boat ride on the Peñol-Guatapé reservoir. During this relaxing cruise, insights into the region's history will be shared, along with views of residences owned by notable individuals.

While we navigate the waters, you'll have the opportunity to savor a local dish, "fiambre antioqueño," which comprises rice, pork rinds, ground meat, vegetables, eggs, and sausage. A true culinary delight!

Upon returning to shore, we'll treat ourselves to "solteritas," scrumptious cream cookies. After savoring this sweet delicacy, you'll enjoy an hour of leisure time in Guatapé. Wander through the charming Zócalos Square, appreciate the beauty of the Nuestra Señora del Carmen church, and capture photographs of the delightful umbrellas that decorate the main streets - you will surely develop a fondness for this picturesque area!

Subsequently, we will make our way to the Piedra del Peñol, a famous natural landmark in Guatapé, where we will spend the next two hours. This colossal rock, rising 220 meters (721 feet), offers breathtaking panoramic views of the reservoir and is surrounded by captivating legends. Climb to its summit for an exhilaration or choose to relax and take photos from the bottom.

As we journey back to Medellín, we will pause for one last tasting experience featuring a special cheese known as Siete Cueros.

After an enriching eight to ten-hour excursion, we will conclude our day at the initial meeting point.
