Rio Verde Trip

On our Rio Verde Trip from Medellín, you'll spend 1 or 2 days exploring the Antioquia Department and rafting in crystal-clear waters.

Description

We'll pick you up from the Masaya Hostel in Medellín and head to the mountainous Antioquia region. Upon arrival in the village of Boquerón, we'll begin a 1-hour hike down the canyon. Mules will carry the equipment during the hike.

After the hike, safety instructions will be provided before we start rafting down Rio Verde. This exciting 15.5-mile (25-kilometre) route includes waves, whirlpools, and rapids. Halfway through, we will have a picnic lunch and enjoy swimming in the deep pools of Rio Verde.

Following the break, we'll continue rafting, concluding at the Samaná River bridge, where drivers will take us back to Medellín. The total duration of the trip is 13 hours.

2-Day Trip

The 2-day trip to Rio Verde includes the same rafting activities on the first day, followed by setting up hammocks at the river's edge and a dinner with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. On the second day, enjoy a swim before breakfast, followed by a walk through the canyon and along a stream, and explore secluded areas and hidden waterfalls during rafting.

Picnic lunch options include vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals. The trip concludes at the Samaná River bridge, with arrival back in Medellín around 8 pm.

Accommodation

The 2-day trip includes a night's accommodation at a campsite with hammocks.
