Rio Verde Trip

On our Rio Verde Trip from Medellín, we'll spend either 1 or 2 days exploring the Antioquia Department and rafting in its waters.

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from the Masaya Hostel in Medellín and begin our journey to the Antioquia region. Upon arrival in the village of Boquerón, we'll embark on a 1-hour hike down the canyon, aided by mules carrying our equipment.

Before rafting, the guide will provide safety instructions. We will navigate a 15.5-mile (25-kilometer) route on Rio Verde, encountering waves and rapids. During a break, we will have a picnic lunch and an opportunity to swim in the river's deep pools. We will complete our rafting activity at the Samaná River bridge, where drivers will take us back to the initial meeting point, concluding a total of 13 hours of adventure.

2-Day Trip

The 2-day trip option includes the same rafting activities on the first day. Afterward, we will set up hammocks by the river and enjoy a dinner with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The next day starts with a swim while breakfast is prepared. Following breakfast, we will walk through the canyon along a stream, raft in secluded spots, and stop for a picnic lunch with similar dietary options. The trip concludes at the Samaná River bridge, with an anticipated arrival back in Medellín around 8 pm.

Accommodation

The 2-day trip includes overnight accommodation at a campsite with hammocks.
