Discover Guatapé on this tour that will take you from the city of eternal spring to one of the region's most emblematic places. Enjoy a boat ride & see the La Piedra del Peñol rock.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet by Poblado's San Jose Church, and we'll head through the green landscapes until we reach the town of Marinilla for breakfast of an arepa with scrambled eggs, cheese, and fried plantains.
Next, we’ll visit La Piedra del Peñol rock, standing 721 feet (220 meters) tall. At the summit, you'll have an hour and a half of free time to enjoy the landscapes.
Then, we’ll proceed to the town of Guatape, where you'll have another hour and a half to walk along the promenade and see the famous Plaza de los Zócalos with its colorful houses and murals. We'll also visit the replica of the Old Peñol, a park that recreates the area's village before it was flooded in the 70s. We'll provide insights into this history. Afterward, a typical lunch of beans, rice, plantain, arepas, and meat will be served.
Following lunch, we’ll board a boat for a cruise around the beautiful Guatapé dam. During the cruise, we'll see the ruins of the famous Hacienda la Manuela, associated with drug lord Pablo Escobar, and learn about its history before returning to the starting point, concluding the tour 10.5-12 hours after departure.
