This free tour of the East End is perfect for exploring one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the coastal capital of Victoria. Come and discover Melbourne!

Description

Welcome to the East End of Melbourne! At the time indicated, we'll meet at Federation Square and start our route around one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Melbourne. Ready?

Firstly, we'll learn about some iconic parts of the city, such as Federation Square, the Yarra River and St. Paul's Cathedral, the only neogothic building in downtown Melbourne.

Then, we'll head to the East End, crossing AC/DC Lane, a street about the rock group. Melbourne played a significant role in their rise to fame. From here, we'll proceed into Degraves Street, a lively area with popular bars.

Our next stop will be the town hall, notable for its architecture. We'll continue to the Block Arcade and Royal Arcade shopping centres, showcasing the Victorian era.

Afterwards, we'll walk down Bourke Street to arrive at Chinatown, influential in shaping Chinese culture in Australia. Nearby is the State Library Victoria, the oldest public library in Australia and one of the first free libraries in the world!

On the final stretch, we'll visit the City Baths and Queen Victoria Market, key locations in the East End.

After 2 hours of exploring, we'll return to the meeting point to conclude this tour.
