This free tour of the East End is perfect for exploring one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the coastal capital of Victoria. Come and discover Melbourne!

Description

Welcome to the East End of Melbourne! At the indicated time, we'll meet at Federation Square and start our route around one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Melbourne. Ready?

Firstly, we'll learn about iconic parts of the city, such as the secrets of Federation Square, the Yarra River, and St. Paul's Cathedral, the only neogothic building in the heart of Melbourne.

Then, we'll head to the East End, crossing AC/DC Lane, a street that honors the mythical rock group. This area played a significant role in their rise to fame. From here, we'll continue into Degraves Street, a popular destination among locals.

Our next stop will be the town hall, notable for its architecture. We'll then visit Block Arcade and Royal Arcade, representing Victorian times.

Next, we'll walk down Bourke Street to arrive at Chinatown, crucial to the establishment of Chinese culture in Australia. Nearby is the State Library Victoria, the oldest public library in the country and one of the first free libraries in the world!

At the end of our 2-hour tour, we'll come to the City Baths and Queen Victoria Market, two important sites in the East End, before returning to the meeting point to conclude the tour.
