Join us on this bus tour of Melbourne, visiting the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, Lake Wendouree, Sovereign Hill, and the Eureka Centre. We will also see views of Melbourne from the Melbourne Skydeck.
Description
On the day of the activity, pick-up will be at Eureka Tower at the designated time. We will travel west from Melbourne in an air-conditioned bus to our first destination.
The first stop will be the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, where we will stroll to view over 50 trees on the National Trust Significant Trees Register and captivating floral displays including Hydrangeas, Chrysanthemums, and Spring Bulbs.
Next, we will visit Lake Wendouree, which served as a venue for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. Today, it offers gardens, sculptures, and diverse birdlife, with possibilities to spot 166 wildlife species, including Black Swans.
Afterwards, we will explore Sovereign Hill, an open-air museum reflecting an 1850 Goldfields town. Activities include gold panning, underground mine tours, and demonstrations of traditional crafts. There will be opportunities to dress in period clothing and enjoy a horse and coach ride, along with time for lunch.
Our next stop is the Eureka Centre, which details the cultural impact of the gold rush and the miner's rebellion, featuring engaging exhibits in the Eureka Stockade Memorial Park.
Finally, we will return to the Melbourne Skydeck for panoramic views, accessing the 88th floor of Eureka Tower via the fastest lift in the Southern Hemisphere, 300 metres (984 feet) high.
