Hiking in Castro Laboreiro

We will meet you at the time of your choosing at the campsite of Lamas de Mouro, located on the outskirts of Castro Laboreiro. From there, we will begin the hiking tour.

This region, situated within the Pene-Gerês National Park, maintains millenary traditions such as transhumance, which involves the seasonal movement of livestock. We will gain insights into herding and grazing as we explore the slope connected to the plateau.

During the hike, we will visit the remains of a large megalithic complex, traverse black oak forests, cross bridges of varying historical significance, and admire the national park's mountains. Notably, the Castle of Castro Laboreiro, established in the 10th century for defense against Galician troops, can be spotted between the rocks.

After a two-hour hike, we will return to the starting point, concluding the experience.
