Andes High Mountain Day Trip

On this high-mountain bus tour through the Andes from Mendoza, we will view the steep peaks of Aconcagua and reach the Argentine-Chilean border for scenic views of the Andean landscape.

Andes High Mountain Tour

Between 7 and 7:30 am, hotel pickup will occur, and we will travel west towards the Andes over 120 kilometers (75 miles), taking approximately 3 hours, along the Mendoza River. A view of the Potrerillos Dam is included.

The first stop is at Uspallata, over 2000 meters (6,500 feet) in altitude, where you will learn about its history. Next, we head to Punta de Vacas, where you can see the Tupungato Volcano. Ten minutes later, we will arrive at the Los Penitentes ski station.

We will continue to Puente del Inca, a natural bridge over the Las Cuevas river, with a viewpoint for Aconcagua nearby. From November to April, you can partake in an optional hike to the Laguna de los Horcones (not included).

We will then stop in Las Cuevas and ascend to Christ the Redeemer of the Andes (accessible January to March) with an hour for lunch, offering typical border cuisine.

After lunch, we will return to Mendoza, with a stop in Uspallata for a break before the final stretch back to your hotel, expected between 7 and 8 pm.

Itinerary Changes

The itinerary may vary seasonally. In summer, we may visit Christ the Redeemer in Los Andes before lunch. An optional 30-minute hike to Laguna de los Horcones is available from November to April on Monday, Friday, and Sunday. The booking process will provide an option for this hike.

In winter, expect more time at Puente del Inca, as some attractions will be non-operational.

The order of visits may change for organizational reasons.

Hotel Pickup

This tour includes a pickup service from downtown Mendoza hotels. For accommodations beyond 1.2 miles (2 km) from the center, an alternative meeting point will be arranged.
