Andes High Mountain Day Trip

On this high-mountain bus tour through the Andes from Mendoza, we'll visit Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Americas, and travel to the Argentine-Chilean border for views of the Andean landscape.

Andes High Mountain Tour

Between 7 and 7:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel and head west towards the Andes on a 120-kilometer (75-mile) drive lasting around 3 hours, alongside the Mendoza River, with a view of the Potrerillos Dam.

Our first stop is Uspallata, a village over 2000 meters? (6,500 feet) high, where you can learn about its history. We will continue to Punta de Vacas, to glimpse the Tupungato Volcano, and then to the Los Penitentes ski station.

Next is Puente del Inca, a natural rock bridge over the Las Cuevas river, with stunning views of Aconcagua.

From November to April, the Aconcagua Provincial Park is open, and you can opt for a hike to the Laguna de los Horcones (not included).

In Las Cuevas, we will ascend to Christ the Redeemer of the Andes (accessible January to March) and have an hour for lunch to enjoy local cuisine.

After lunch, we will return to Mendoza, with a stop in Uspallata and a final journey of 3 hours back to your hotel, expected between 7 and 8 pm.

Itinerary Changes

Itinerary may vary by season. In summer, we may visit Christ the Redeemer before lunch, and the optional 30-minute hike to Laguna de los Horcones may be available during booking.

In winter, enjoy more time at Puente del Inca, as other attractions may be closed.

The order of visits may change for organizational reasons.

This tour includes pickup from downtown Mendoza hotels. If your accommodation is over 1.2 miles (2 km) from the center, an alternative meeting point will be arranged.
