On this high-mountain bus tour through the Andes from Mendoza, participants will view the steep peaks of Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Americas, and approach the Argentinean-Chilean border for panoramic views of the dramatic Andean landscape.

Andes High Mountain Tour

Pick-up from your hotel will occur between 7 and 7:30 am. The 120-kilometer (75-mile) drive will take approximately 3 hours, following the Mendoza River and showcasing the Potrerillos Dam. The first stop will be in Uspallata, situated at over 2000 meters (6,500 feet), where participants will learn about its history before heading to Punta de Vacas. There, glimpses of the Tupungato Volcano will be available, followed by a visit to the Los Penitentes ski station.

Next, the tour will proceed to Puente del Inca, where a viewpoint offers stunning vistas of Aconcagua. From November to April, an optional hike to Laguna de los Horcones is available (not included). The visit will continue to Las Cuevas, where participants can ascend to Christ the Redeemer of the Andes (access generally from January to March) and enjoy an hour of free time for lunch in the town.

Post-lunch, the return trip to Mendoza will take about 2 hours (83 km / 50 mi) with a stop in Uspallata before completing another 3 hours (120 km / 75 mi) to arrive at the hotel between 7 and 8 pm.

This tour includes pickup from hotels in downtown Mendoza. For accommodations over 1.2 miles (2 km) from the city center, arrangements for an alternative meeting point will be made by the guide.
