Cordon del Plata Provincial Park Trek

After picking you up at your hotel in Mendoza between 7:30 am and 8 am, we will drive along National Route 7 to the Andean towns of Cacheuta and Potrerillos. At Potrerillos, we will stop briefly to admire its reservoir nestled between mountains.

We will regain our strength with some traditional empanadas from Mendoza and a tasty infusion as we continue to Vallecitos ski resort in Cordón del Plata Provincial Park. From there, we will start a 6.5-hour trek of moderate difficulty, reaching a height of 12,600 feet above sea level.

We will hike through the stunning Quebrada de Arenales gorge until reaching the summits of Pico Andresito and Cerro Arenales, witnessing the amazing wildlife native to this area, before ascending to Cerro Lomas Blancas for a panorama of the Cordón del Plata range. We will stop for a picnic lunch of sandwiches or empanadas, fruit, alfajores, and other sweets.

After lunch, we will descend through the Morenas Coloradas valley. At 4 pm, the trek finishes at the Vallecitos ski resort. We will return by road to your hotel in Mendoza, arriving between 5:30 pm and 6 pm.
