Travel to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve and discover one of the most biodiverse regions of the Yucatán. You'll enjoy a boat ride alongside flamingos and herons!
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet in Mérida and head to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival, we’ll embark on a 90-minute boat tour through the mangroves of this protected area, passing by Bird Island to see flamingos, herons, hawks, and pelicans. We will also navigate through the Valeosera Lagoon and the Quinitun Lagoon. Remember to bring your camera, as you might spot a crocodile.
Our journey continues through the mangrove forest, searching for ducks, armadillos, ocelots, wild turkeys, and white-tailed deer, among 300 other species. A stop at a cenote within the mangroves will allow for a refreshing dip if conditions are favorable.
Next, we’ll go to Celestún Beach, specifically the Beach Club, where you’ll have three hours for lunch, offering fish or chicken fillet by the sea, and beach relaxation. We’ll conclude our nine-hour tour by returning to Mérida.
