Travel to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve and discover one of the most biodiverse regions of the Yucatán. Enjoy a boat ride alongside flamingos and herons!
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the designated location in Mérida and head to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival, we’ll embark on a 90-minute boat tour through the mangroves, passing by Bird Island to see pink flamingos, herons, hawks, and pelicans. We’ll navigate through the Valeosera Lagoon and Quinitun Lagoon, where you might spot a crocodile on the shore.
Our adventure continues as we explore the mangrove forest looking for ducks, armadillos, ocelots, wild turkeys, and white-tailed deer among over 300 other species. We’ll stop at a cenote in the mangroves, where, if conditions allow, you can take a dip.
Next, we’ll visit Celestún Beach at the Beach Club, allowing three hours of free time to enjoy a meal of fish or chicken and relax on the beach.
Finally, we’ll return to Mérida, concluding our tour after nine hours of exploration.
