Tour Overview

We’ll gather at a prearranged spot in Mérida before setting forth towards the enchanting Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve, a true natural treasure of the Yucatán Peninsula. Let’s begin the adventure!

Upon arrival, prepare for a 90-minute boat excursion through the lush mangrove ecosystem of the reserve. As we navigate, keep an eye out for Bird Island, a haven for the striking pink flamingos alongside an assortment of herons, hawks, and pelicans. Our journey will also take us through the scenic Valeosera Lagoon and the beautiful Quinitun Lagoon. Don’t forget your camera—you may catch a glimpse of a crocodile basking in the sun!

Continuing deeper into the verdant mangrove jungle, we will search for diverse wildlife, including ducks, armadillos, ocelots, wild turkeys, and the elusive white-tailed deer amidst over 300 species present. We will also make a stop at a cenote nestled within the mangroves, where, depending on conditions, you’ll have the chance to take a refreshing swim in this enchanting spot.

Next, we’ll proceed to Celestún Beach, specifically the Beach Club, where you can unwind for three hours. Enjoy a delightful fish or chicken fillet lunch next to the shore and take some time to relax on the sandy beach.

After this enriching experience, we’ll make our way back to Mérida, wrapping up our fulfilling nine-hour exploration.
