Travel to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve and discover one of the most biodiverse regions of the Yucatán. Enjoy a boat ride alongside flamingos and herons!

Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the designated location in Mérida and head to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve. Once we arrive, we’ll embark on a 90-minute boat tour through the mangroves of this protected area. We’ll pass by Bird Island to admire pink flamingos, herons, hawks, and pelicans. We’ll also navigate through the Valeosera Lagoon and the Quinitun Lagoon, where you might spot a crocodile on the shore.

Our adventure includes exploring the lush mangrove forest in search of ducks, armadillos, ocelots, wild turkeys, and white-tailed deer, among over 300 species. A stop at a cenote within the mangroves allows for a refreshing dip if conditions allow.

Next, we’ll head to Celestún Beach, specifically to the Beach Club, where you’ll have three hours of free time to enjoy a lunch of fish or chicken fillet by the sea and relax on the beach.

Finally, we’ll return to Mérida, concluding our tour after nine hours of exploration.
