Travel to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve and discover one of the most biodiverse regions of the Yucatán with a scenic boat ride alongside flamingos and herons.
Tour Details
We’ll meet at the designated location in Mérida and head to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival, we’ll start a 90-minute boat tour through the mangroves. Highlights include Bird Island, home to pink flamingos, herons, hawks, and pelicans. We’ll also navigate Valeosera Lagoon and Quinitun Lagoon, with potential crocodile sightings. Throughout the tour, we’ll explore the mangrove forest looking for diverse wildlife, including ducks, armadillos, ocelots, wild turkeys, and white-tailed deer, among over 300 species. Weather permitting, there will be a stop at a cenote for a swim.
Afterward, we’ll visit Celestún Beach and enjoy three hours at the Beach Club, where a fish or chicken fillet lunch is available. Relax on the beach before we conclude our nine-hour tour and return to Mérida.
