Travel to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve and discover one of the most biodiverse regions of the Yucatán. You'll enjoy a boat ride alongside flamingos and herons!

Tour Details

We’ll meet at the designated location in Mérida and head to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival, we’ll embark on a 90-minute boat tour through the mangroves. The tour includes sightings of Bird Island, where you can see pink flamingos, herons, hawks, and pelicans, as well as navigation through Valeosera Lagoon and Quinitun Lagoon. Bring your camera as crocodiles may also be spotted.

The journey continues through the mangrove forest, where there is a chance to see various wildlife species, including ducks, armadillos, ocelots, wild turkeys, and white-tailed deer, among over 300 species. A stop at a cenote within the mangroves will allow for a refreshing dip if conditions permit.

After the boat tour, we will head to Celestún Beach, specifically to the Beach Club, where you will have three hours of free time to enjoy lunch, either a fish or chicken fillet, and relax on the beach. Finally, we’ll return to Mérida to conclude our tour after approximately nine hours of exploration.
