Details of the Day Trip
Your journey begins with a convenient pickup at Paseo 60, centrally located in Mérida. After departure, we will travel approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach the magnificent Chichén Itzá.
Upon arrival, indulge in a guided tour of the archaeological site lasting about 1 hour. Marvel at the impressive pyramid dedicated to Kukulkán, known to the Spanish invaders as El Castillo. Together with your knowledgeable guide, you will delve into the rich history and religious significance of this temple.
Your visit will also take you to the Temple of the Warriors, recognized for its surrounding columns and intricate war scenes carved into stone. As you explore, you will encounter other noteworthy structures, including El Osario, which harbors a cave within, and the unique El Caracol observatory, exemplifying the Mayans' remarkable understanding of astronomy. Following this, you’ll enjoy a period of 1 hour for self-exploration and photography at the site.
Next, we will proceed to the Xcajum Cenote, where you can unwind and soak in the cool, clear waters for 2 hours. It is advisable to bring a bathing suit and towel for a refreshing swim. Following your time at the cenote, you will partake in a delicious buffet-style lunch featuring local delicacies, such as roast chicken or pork, accompanied by rice, beans, and handmade tortillas.
As the day concludes, we will return to Mérida, where you will be dropped off at the starting point, wrapping up an enriching day trip that spans approximately 9 to 10 hours.
