Day Trip Details
After picking you up at the designated time at Paseo 60 in Mérida, we will depart for the ancient Mayan city of Chichén Itzá, approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from the city.
Upon arrival at Chichén Itzá, a 1-hour guided tour of the archaeological site will commence. You will see the pyramid dedicated to the God Kukulkán, known as El Castillo, and learn about the temple's significance in the religious life of Chichén Itzá.
The tour will also include the Temple of the Warriors, surrounded by columns known as "the thousand columns," illustrating war scenes. Other notable structures include El Osario and El Caracol observatory, which reflects the advanced astronomical knowledge of the Mayans. Following the guided tour, you will have 1 hour of free time to explore and take pictures.
Next, we will visit the Xcajum Cenote for 2 hours, where you can swim in the clear waters. Please bring a bathing suit and a towel. The tour includes a buffet-style lunch featuring regional dishes such as roast chicken or pork, rice, beans, and handmade tortillas.
The trip concludes with a return to Mérida, where we will drop you off at the starting point 9 to 10 hours later.
