Day Trip to Mucuyché Hacienda

Come with us on this day trip to the Mucuyché Hacienda for a glimpse into the Henequen Era. The trip includes a guided tour of the estate and access to its cenotes.

Day Trip Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Merida at the scheduled time and head to Mucuyché Hacienda in Abalá. After a 1-hour journey, we will commence a guided tour of the estate, translated from the indigenous language as 'tree of the dove'.

During the tour, you will learn about the estate's 17th-century history and its significance to the Henequen industry. Although the hacienda was closed for years following the decline of this industry, much of its original structure has been preserved, allowing appreciation of its historical details.

Post-tour, you will have 3 hours of free time to explore the cenotes on the estate. You can swim in the Carlota Cenote, named after Empress Carlota, with a depth of up to 7 metres (23 feet). You will also have the opportunity to visit the Azul Maya Cenote. To navigate between cenotes, you may walk along a stone path or swim across a canal.

Finally, we will return to Merida and conclude the 6-hour day trip at your hotel.
