On this excursion to the cenotes of Homún and Eknakán, we will visit the neo-Gothic Church of San José and explore natural pools for swimming.

Homún & Eknakán Cenotes Excursion

We will pick you up at your hotel in Mérida at the scheduled time and drive to Eknakán. A stop will be made for breakfast on your own if desired.

Upon arrival in Eknakán, we will visit the Church of San José, built in the early 20th century and inspired by European-style temples. A stroll through the town will allow you to see local food stalls and modernized buildings from wealthy landowners.

Next, we will proceed to Homún, known for its impressive cenotes. We will explore various types of cenotes in the area: closed, semi-open, and open-air cenotes.

We will learn about the historical significance of these natural pools to the Maya civilization. After the informative part of the visit, you will have free time to swim in the refreshing crystalline waters of the cenotes.

Following the cenote tour, we will go to a restaurant for lunch on your own. We will return to Mérida, arriving approximately 10 hours after the pickup.
