Homún & Eknakán Cenotes Excursion

On this excursion, we will depart from your hotel in Mérida at the scheduled time and drive to Eknakán. A stop will be made on the way for breakfast at your discretion.

Upon arrival in Eknakán, the first visit will be to the Church of San José, a neo-Gothic building from the early 20th century. Following this, there will be a stroll through the town to explore local food stalls and modernized structures by affluent landowners.

Next, we will proceed to Homún, known for its notable cenotes. We will investigate various types including closed, semi-open, and open-air cenotes.

Participants will learn about the significance and functions of these natural pools in relation to the Maya civilization before enjoying free time to swim in the cenotes and experience their clear waters.

After the cenote tour, you will have lunch at your own expense at a local restaurant. The return trip to Mérida will conclude approximately 10 hours after the initial pickup.
