On this excursion to the cenotes of Homún and Eknakán, we will admire the neo-Gothic Church of San José and then head to natural pools for a refreshing dip.

Homún & Eknakán Cenotes Excursion

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Mérida and drive to Eknakán. There will be a stop for breakfast on your own if desired.

Upon arriving in Eknakán, we will first visit the Church of San José, a neo-Gothic building from the early 20th century. We will then stroll through town to see food stalls and buildings modernized by local landowners.

After exploring Eknakán, we will proceed to Homún, known for its spectacular cenotes. We will visit different types: closed, semi-open, and open-air cenotes.

We will learn about the significance of these natural pools to the Maya civilization. After this historical overview, you will have free time to swim in the cenotes and enjoy their crystalline waters.

After the cenote tour, we will visit a restaurant for lunch on your own. We will return to Mérida, arriving approximately 10 hours after pickup.
