On this excursion to Izamal, we'll explore this Pueblo Mágico and enjoy the light and sound show organized in its historic centre.

Description

At the indicated time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Merida and drive by minibus towards Izamal, where we'll arrive after about 1.5 hours.

Once we arrive, we'll approach the Kinich Kakmó Pyramid, from which we'll enjoy a panoramic view of the historical centre of Izamal, known for its yellow houses. We'll discuss the influence of Pope John Paul II on this colour.

After taking photographs, we'll head to the convent of San Antonio de Padua, located near the main square of Izamal. This 16th-century Franciscan convent is one of the most significant historical monuments of Yucatan.

We'll also visit the craft workshop in this Pueblo Mágico, enjoy a typical dish at a traditional restaurant, and attend the light and sound show in Izamal. The projections on the yellow façade of the Convent of San Antonio de Padua blend audiovisuals, architecture, and history effectively.

After the show, we'll return to Mérida, dropping you off at your hotel approximately 10 hours after the initial pickup.
