Mexican Food Tour of Mérida

At the designated time, we'll meet at the Letras de Mérida to start this tasty tour.

First, we'll stop at Gorditas Doña Gorda to enjoy an authentic Mexican gordita, which are closed tortillas filled with pork rinds, beans, or other ingredients. Next, we will visit Eulogio Rosado Park to taste an authentic poc chuc, a dish made with sour orange marinated pork.

The route continues to the San Benito market for local fruits like huaya, nance, or guanábana. We will also try traditional tamales covered with a vegetable leaf. After this, we will head to Lucas de Galvez market to sample pork "carnitas" seasoned with herbs and spices, followed by some tacos al pastor, the most popular tacos in the country.

We will conclude the tour with some fruity ice creams before returning to the meeting point at 6 pm.
