Are you in Mérida and passionate about history? Then don't miss the famous Puuc Route! Here, we'll visit some of the most important archaeological areas in Yucatán.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Mérida to begin our trip along the famous and mysterious Puuc Route. The word "Puuc" means mountain or hill, and on this tour, we'll explore the archaeological jewels of the Maya civilization in the Yucateca region. We'll first stop at Labná, known for its stone carvings, followed by visits to Kabah, Sayil, and Xlapak. At each location, we'll provide details about the structures and insights into Maya architecture and its symbolism.
Next, we'll visit the city of Uxmal, a significant Maya archaeological site in Mexico, where we will see the Soothsayer's Pyramid, the Governor's Palace, and other noteworthy constructions that illustrate the history of this civilization.
A short stop will be made for a Yucateca lunch at a local restaurant. After eating, we will return to Mérida to conclude the trip.
Keep in Mind
The availability of visits to the archaeological sites depends on their opening hours. Note that the guide won't enter the archaeological sites with you.
