On this tour from Merida, we'll visit the archeological complex of Uxmal to discover the pre-colonization culture in this region. We'll also learn the history of cocoa at the Choco-Story Museum.

Uxmal & Choco-Story Museum Tour

At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Merida and drive south to Uxmal, one of the main Mayan archaeological sites in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Once we arrive at this archaeological complex, declared a World Heritage Site, we'll start our guided tour of the entire monumental complex. A major highlight is the colossal Pyramid of the Soothsayer.

The tour will continue by visiting important vestiges of the site such as the Quadrangle of the Nuns and the Governor's Palace. We'll also visit the ancient ball game field to learn about this pre-Columbian sport.

After exploring Uxmal, the tour will continue to the Choco-Story Museum. Its interactive exhibition will allow us to delve into the history of cocoa and the different products made from it. The museum features six rooms shaped like traditional Mayan houses, each revealing chocolate-related facts.

Following the visit to the Choco-Story Museum, we'll have lunch at a restaurant in the Uxmal area, enjoying a traditional Yucatecan dish with several options available.

Lastly, we'll return to your hotel in Merida, arriving at 5 pm.
