Uxmal & Kabah Day Trip

After meeting at Paseo Montejo in Mérida at the scheduled time, we'll begin this excursion to Uxmal and Kabah, two significant vestiges of the Maya civilization.

We'll take a guided tour of Uxmal, focusing on its key places of interest. You will see the Pyramid of the Magician, also known as the Pyramid of the Dwarf, while the guide shares the legend of its construction related to a mysterious prophet.

The tour continues with visits to other remarkable stone buildings of Uxmal, including the Governor's Palace, House of Doves, Old House, and Falos Temple. The excellent state of conservation allows you to envision Uxmal during its peak.

After Uxmal, we’ll proceed to the archaeological site of Kabah, a 20-minute drive away, dedicated to the Maya god of rain, Chaac. Here, we will observe the hundreds of masks of the deity on the walls of Codz Poop, the "rolled-up carpet", and learn about the rain-attracting rites.

We'll also see the statues of the Maya kings throughout the site and visit the palace, the largest building in Kabah.

The excursion concludes with our return to Mérida, approximately 7 hours after departure.
