Uxmal & Kabah Day Trip
After meeting on Paseo Montejo in Mérida at the scheduled time, we'll begin this day trip to Uxmal and Kabah, significant vestiges of the Maya civilization.
We'll take a guided tour of Uxmal, exploring its key sites. We will view the Pyramid of the Magician and learn about the legend associated with its construction.
The tour will continue with visits to other notable buildings in Uxmal, such as the Governor's Palace, House of Doves, Old House, and Falos Temple. The city’s state of conservation allows for an imaginative experience of Uxmal's past.
Following the guided tour of Uxmal, we will proceed to the archaeological site of Kabah, about a 20-minute drive away. Here, we will view the masks of the Maya god of rain, Chaac, adorning the walls of Codz Poop, and learn about rain-attracting rites.
We will also see the statues of the Maya kings throughout the site and visit the palace, the largest building in Kabah.
The excursion concludes with our return to the meeting point in Mérida, approximately 7 hours after departure.
