Uxmal & Kabah Day Trip
After meeting on Paseo Montejo in Mérida at the scheduled time, we'll begin this day trip to Uxmal and Kabah, two significant sites of the Maya civilization.
We'll take a guided tour of Uxmal, exploring its key locations. The tour includes the Pyramid of the Magician, where the guide will share its legend. Other notable structures include the Governor's Palace, the House of Doves, the Old House, and the Falos Temple, all well-preserved, allowing for an insightful experience.
After the guided tour of Uxmal, we will drive for 20 minutes to reach the archaeological site of Kabah, devoted to the Maya god of rain, Chaac. Here, we will see numerous masks of the deity adorning the walls of Codz Poop, the "rolled-up carpet", and learn about the rain-attracting rites.
We will also pass by the statues of the Maya kings and visit the palace, the largest structure in Kabah.
The excursion concludes with a return to the meeting point in Mérida, taking a total of 7 hours from departure.
