Sierras de Comechingones Trip

At 7:30 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Villa de Merlo and drive to the outskirts of the city, where the Mogote Bayo Provincial Natural Reserve is located. We will stop at the sun viewpoint for panoramic views of the area.

Next, we will head to the Sierras de Comechingones, a steep mountain range between the Argentine provinces of San Luis and Córdoba. As we travel along the slopes, we will explore the flora and fauna of this biodiverse area.

We will continue to an elevation of 7500 feet above sea level for views of the Conlara Valley. During this time, we will discuss the Argentinean ethnic groups of the Hinia and Kamîare, known as "comechingones," whose ancestors inhabited these territories before the Spanish conquest in the 16th century.

The trip includes a short trek along a main trail, allowing further exploration of the geology characterized by enormous valleys and watercourses.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Villa de Merlo, arriving at 11:30 am.
