Enjoy a day filled with nature and history, on this excursion to Etna, where you'll visit the tallest active volcano in Europe, and Taormina, famous for its Roman remains.

Etna and Taormina Tour

We'll leave Messina on an air-conditioned bus, heading to Etna, approximately an hour and a half away. Etna is notable as the tallest active volcano in Europe at 3,000 metres. We will visit the Sapienza refuge to discuss the recent eruptions of the Etna Volcano. There, we'll explore craters from the powerful eruption in 1892. You can choose to climb to 2,500 metres using the cable car from the refuge for an additional cost of €30.

We will then travel to Taormina, located seventy kilometres from Etna. In this historic city, we will walk down Umberto street, guided through Taormina's history, main churches, and monuments. Recommendations for local restaurants and ice cream shops will be provided.

Finally, we'll return to Messina on the same bus, concluding the tour at the original meeting point.
