Etna and Taormina Tour

Enjoy a day filled with nature and history, on this excursion to Etna, where you'll visit the tallest active volcano in Europe, and Taormina, famous for its Roman remains.

Etna and Taormina Tour

We'll leave Messina on an air-conditioned bus towards Etna, located 1.5 hours away and known as the largest active volcano in Europe at 3,000 metres.

We will head to the Sapienza refuge to discuss recent eruptions of the Etna Volcano. Afterward, we will explore the main craters from an eruption in 1892. A cable car to 2500 metres is available from the refuge (not included, price €30).

Next, we will travel to Taormina, 70 kilometres from Etna. In this historic city, we will walk down Umberto street while a guide shares the history of Taormina, its main churches, and monuments. Recommendations for the best restaurants and ice cream shops will also be provided.

We will then return to Messina, arriving back at the original meeting point.

This excursion is available for cruise passengers. Please indicate your boat's name when booking. We will meet you in the disembarkation area 30 minutes after the cruise ship's scheduled docking time.

Minimum Participants

Between the 17th of November and the 31st of March, the tour requires a minimum of 8 participants. If this is not met, alternative options will be provided.
