Etna and Taormina Tour

Enjoy a day filled with nature and history on this excursion to Etna, where you'll visit the tallest active volcano in Europe, and Taormina, known for its Roman remains.

Etna and Taormina Tour

We'll leave Messina behind on an air-conditioned bus, heading toward Etna, located an hour and a half away and known for being the site of the largest active volcano in Europe at 3,000 meters tall.

Our first stop will be the Sapienza refuge, where we will discuss the most recent eruptions of the Etna Volcano. At this location, we’ll explore the main craters formed by a powerful eruption in 1892. If you're adventurous, there's an option to climb to 2,500 meters using the cable car departing from the refuge (not included in the tour, additional cost €30).

Next, we will continue our journey to Taormina, situated seventy kilometers from Etna. In this historic city filled with Roman ruins, we will stroll down Umberto street, guided through the history of Taormina, its main churches, and monuments. Additionally, we will recommend the best restaurants and ice cream shops, so you can experience authentic Sicilian gastronomy.

Finally, we will return to Messina on the same bus, arriving back at the original meeting point.

Cruises

This excursion is available for cruise passengers. When making your reservation, you will be asked to provide the name of your ship. We will be waiting for you in the disembarkation area half an hour after your cruise ship's scheduled docking time.

Minimum Participants

Between the 17th of November and the 31st of March, the tour will only operate with a minimum of 8 participants. If this condition is not met, alternative options will be provided.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Your adventure begins as you board an air-conditioned bus in Messina. The first part of your journey will take you to Etna, where you will learn about the volcano's eruptions and explore its craters. After that, you will visit Taormina to discover its rich history.
