Etna and Taormina Tour
We'll leave Messina on an air-conditioned bus, heading to Etna, approximately one and a half hours away. Etna stands at 3,000 metres tall and is known as the largest active volcano in Europe.
Our first stop will be the Sapienza refuge to discuss the most recent eruptions of the Etna Volcano. Here, we will explore the main craters created by a powerful eruption in 1892. If desired, you may climb to 2500 metres using the cable car departing from the refuge (not included in the tour, at a cost of €30).
Next, we will proceed to Taormina, located seventy kilometres from Etna. In this historic city with Roman ruins, we will walk along Umberto street, where a guide will share the history of Taormina, including its main churches and monuments. Recommendations for local restaurants and ice cream shops will also be provided.
After this, we will return by bus to Messina, arriving back at the original meeting point.
