Hike Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel or Port of Messina to start our adventure on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. This area is a significant destination for hiking enthusiasts and anyone wanting to experience this natural wonder in Sicily.

For approximately 3 hours, we’ll walk among ancient craters and observe the volcanic landscapes, vegetation, and evidence of the last large eruption from 2002.

After the hike, our vehicle will take us to the area surrounding the town of Castiglione di Sicilia. We will cross the Sicilian countryside to the Alcantara Valley, where we’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch featuring typical products from the island.

Post-lunch, we’ll proceed to the shores of the Alcantara River to view its volcanic cliffs and basalt walls. You can swim in the river, take photos, and visit the renowned Alcantara Gorges. Between April and July, the landscape is adorned with a lush green mantle due to unique flowering.

Finally, we’ll return to Messina and conclude our tour after a total of 7 hours.
