Enjoy a day immersed in the Wine region around Etna, the volcanic area of Sicily. You'll admire the tallest volcano in Europe, explore the town of Taormina, and try wine at a local winery.

Taormina Day Trip + Winery Tour

The tour will depart from the Messina port, traveling to Taormina, located about an hour's drive away on the east coast of Sicily.

Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, we'll embark on a guided tour of Taormina, exploring its history and notable ancient churches and monuments. A stroll down Corso Umberto and through Piazza IX Aprile is included.

After Taormina, we'll head to Etna, Europe's largest active volcano at 3,300 metres tall, to discover how the climate and soil are ideal for vine cultivation, leading to local wine production. This will be complemented by a visit to a local winery.

We'll tour the winery, learn about local wine production, and enjoy a wine tasting of red, white, and rosé wines, accompanied by local delicacies like salami, olives, cheeses, and Sicilian style pasta.

At the end of the day, we'll return to Messina.

Cruises

This excursion is available for cruise passengers. When reserving, please indicate the name of your boat. We will be in the disembarkation area half an hour after the cruise ship's scheduled docking time.

Minimum Participants

Between the 17th of November and the 31st of March, the tour will only take place if there are a minimum of 8 participants. If not, different alternatives will be offered.
