Taormina Day Trip + Winery Tour
The tour will depart from the Messina port, traveling to Taormina, a historic town located about an hour's drive away on the east coast of Sicily.
Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, we will embark on a guided tour of Taormina, learning about its history while viewing ancient churches and monuments. We will stroll down the town's main street, Corso Umberto, and through Piazza IX Aprile, among other sites.
After exploring Taormina, we will proceed to Etna, Europe's largest active volcano, standing at 3,300 meters. We will learn how the local climate and soil are ideal for wine cultivation. This will include a visit to a local winery.
We will tour the winery and learn about wine production, followed by a wine tasting session featuring red, white, and rosé wines. This tasting will be accompanied by local delicacies, including salami, olives, local cheeses, and Sicilian-style pasta.
At the end of the day, we will return to Messina.
