Tour Options

At booking, you can select either tour option, both including hotel pickup and drop-off from Kalambaka or Kastraki, an informative audio guide in multiple languages, and transport to the Meteora monasteries.

Half-Day Trip

Pickup from your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki will occur at the indicated time. The local tour assistant will provide insights into the UNESCO World Heritage Site and the history of the first hermits and monks that formed the Meteora community.

During the tour, all 6 monasteries will be visited, and the audio guide will explain the geological formation of the rocks. There will be an opportunity to enter three monasteries for a deeper understanding and views of the town below. The tour lasts 4 hours, concluding back at your hotel.

Half-Day Trip at Sunset

This option enhances the visit to Meteora, exploring the site during sunset. Alongside a local tour assistant and an audio guide, the tour delves into Meteora's traditions and history.

The itinerary begins with a visit to either the Agios Stefanos or Saint Nicholas monasteries, followed by a trip to the Byzantine Church of the Virgin Mary in Kalabaka to appreciate its architecture and frescoes.

The tour continues to the Hermetic Caves of Badova to learn about the early Christian hermits. It concludes with a spectacular sunset view from a cliff, providing a memorable experience. After 4 hours, participants will be returned to their hotel.
