Explore the incredible rock formations of Meteora and its monasteries with a hiking route that keeps you active while uncovering its secrets.

Meteora Hiking Trip

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning for a trip to Meteora, where art and nature combine in a stunning landscape.

After a 20-minute minibus ride, you will embark on a four-hour hike in the mountains, covering a distance of 5 miles (8 km). Guided by an English-speaking guide, you will follow the trails used by the monks who originally settled in the area.

The hike will include visits to the ruins of ancient monasteries and an optional visit to one still-active monastery: either the Grand Meteora Monastery or the Varlaam Monastery (entry not included), depending on the day's schedule. While you will receive all necessary information about the monastery, please note that this part of the tour is unguided.

This experience allows for a day in nature, providing exercise and insight into a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized since 1988.

After completing your hike around Meteora, you will return to the minibus for your transfer back to your hotel.
