Discover the Meteora Monasteries, where the architecture merges with the rocks at over 600 meters high.

Day Trip Details

We will pick you up by minibus at the meeting point in Kalambaka to begin the journey to Meteora, known for the hanging monasteries. After a brief 20-minute trip, you will see these monasteries atop rocky formations 600 meters (1,968 feet) high.

During the tour, we will share stories and interesting facts about Meteora and its monasteries. Originally, 24 monasteries existed, but today only six are open to visitors: Great Meteoron, Varlaam, Rousanou, St. Nicholas Anapausas, St. Stephen, and Holy Trinity. We will visit three of these monasteries, and while the interior visits are not guided, we will provide all necessary information beforehand.

The tour concludes with a transfer back to Kalambaka after 4 hours.

Visit to the Monasteries

During the tour, you'll visit the interior of 3 monasteries, though some may be closed on certain days. Notably, the Great Meteoron Monastery is closed every Tuesday; reservation on this day will result in only an exterior visit.
