The monasteries of Meteora serve as a motivation to visit Greece. This day trip from Kalambaka allows you to admire the sunset and visit one or two of the UNESCO-protected monasteries.

Pickup from your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki occurs first thing in the morning. An English-speaking guide will provide insights about these rocky formations, which rise over 600 meters high, and the monasteries located atop them.

Of the original 24 monasteries, 13 remain, with six accessible for visits: the Grand Meteora Monastery, St. Nicholas Monastery, Monastery of the Holy Trinity, St. Stephen's Monastery, Roussanou, and Varlaam Monasteries. On this trip, you will have the opportunity to visit one or two, illuminated by the sunset.

Additionally, the tour includes a visit to the Byzantine church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, an 11th-century temple nestled beneath the Meteora rocks.

Concluding the day, you can enjoy the sunset behind the monasteries, with free time to photograph the scene. Following this experience, transportation back to your hotel in Kalambaka or Kastraki will be provided.
