The Carribean wilderness will dazzle you on this day trip to La Jalda waterfall, widely considered one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Dominican Republic.
Tour Options
At the time of booking, you can choose between two different tour options. Both include pickup at the Atabey Hotel in Miches, roundtrip transportation, a guided hike through the Dominican jungle, and lunch by the waterfall.
La Jalda Waterfall Day Trip (9 hours)
Pickup will be at the Atabey Hotel in Miches, followed by a drive to the community of La Loma. After a 2-hour hike through the jungle, you will reach Salto de La Jalda, a waterfall over 120 meters (400 feet) tall where you can swim in the pool below. A picnic lunch will be provided by the waterfall. Following lunch, a walk back to La Loma will lead to a tasting of traditional homemade fruit wine, with options for water or a soft drink, accompanied by chocolate and cookies.
Return to the Hotel Atabey de Miches will conclude approximately 9 hours later.
La Jalda Waterfall + Montaña Redonda Day Trip (10.5 hours)
This tour follows the same initial itinerary to La Loma. However, after the hike, a trip to Montaña Redonda will follow, only 30 minutes away. You will ascend to enjoy an unforgettable sunset with panoramic views of the bay of Samana and surrounding landscapes. Time will be allocated for photos on iconic swings and hammocks.
After one hour at Montaña Redonda, return to Miches will conclude approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes later.
