La Jalda Waterfall Day Trip

The Caribbean wilderness will dazzle you on this day trip to La Jalda waterfall, widely considered one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Dominican Republic.

Tour Options

At the time of booking, you can choose between two different tour options. Both include pickup at the Atabey Hotel in Miches, roundtrip transportation, a guided hike through the Dominican jungle, and lunch by the waterfall.

La Jalda Waterfall Day Trip (9 hours)

We'll pick you up at the indicated time at the Atabey Hotel in Miches and head towards the community of La Loma. Once we arrive, we'll embark on a 2-hour hike through the Dominican jungle, observing various tropical plants, including orchids, and different cacao and coffee plantations.

After the hike, we'll reach Salto de La Jalda, a waterfall over 120 meters (400 feet) tall, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. We will take a break for a picnic lunch and then return to La Loma to enjoy a traditional homemade fruit wine alongside water or a soft drink with chocolate and cookies. Finally, we will head back to the Atabey Hotel, arriving 9 hours later.

La Jalda Waterfall + Montaña Redonda Day Trip (10.5 hours)

If you choose this tour, we will follow the same itinerary to the community of La Loma. After the hike, we will travel to Montaña Redonda, just 30 minutes away, to enjoy an unforgettable sunset with panoramic views of the bay of Samana and surrounding landscapes. You will also have time for pictures on the iconic swings and hammocks. After an hour at Montaña Redonda, we'll return to Miches, arriving approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes later.
