La Jalda Waterfall Day Trip

The Caribbean wilderness will dazzle you on this excursion to La Jalda waterfall, widely considered one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Dominican Republic.

We'll pick you up at 8 am at the Atabey Hotel in Miches. From this coastal town, we'll head towards the community of La Loma.

Upon arrival, we'll embark on a breathtaking hike through the Dominican jungle. During the trek, you will see various tropical plants, including orchids, and explore several cacao and coffee plantations.

After a two-hour hike, we will reach Salto de La Jalda, a waterfall with a height of over 120 meters (400 feet). Here, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool at its base, with waters from the Cordillera Septentrional.

We will take a break next to the waterfall for lunch - be sure to bring your own picnic. After lunch, we will walk back to La Loma, where we will enjoy traditional homemade fruit wine. You can also choose water or a soft drink, accompanied by chocolate and sweet and salty cookies.

From La Loma, we will return to Atabey Hotel in Miches, arriving at 5 pm.
