Whale Observations in Miches

At the agreed time, we’ll gather at the Miches tourist pier and proceed to a local market where we’ll enjoy a delightful breakfast. You can expect to find coffee, tea, juice, sandwiches, and fresh fruit to energize our morning.

After our meal, we will board a boat for an expedition aimed at locating the humpback whale families that grace the waters of Samana Bay and the surrounding northern coasts of the Dominican Republic.

For approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, contingent on the sea conditions, we’ll navigate the Atlantic Ocean, taking in the magnificent sight of whales gliding through their habitat. Be sure to have your camera handy!

Interestingly, the melodies of humpback whales can travel up to 30 kilometers! Throughout our trip, you will gain insights into how these marine mammals breathe, what they consume, and discover numerous fascinating facts.

We will conclude our journey around 3.5 hours later, returning to the pier where we first set sail.
