Guided Visit of the National Anthropological Museum

The tour begins at the main entrance to the Anthropological Museum with the Origins of Mesoamerican Culture guided tour. Mexico City's National Anthropological Museum is the most significant museum in Latin America, attracting over two million visitors annually to view the largest collection of pre-Hispanic art in the world.

During this 2.5-hour tour, participants will explore the history of pre-Hispanic societies and learn about current archaeological excavations and ethnographic studies. The experience includes examining a collection of daily objects from Mexico's earliest inhabitants and significant cultural and religious artifacts.

Highlights include the renowned 'Sun Stone', or Aztec Calendar, with discussions about its connection to the universe's origin. The tour also features reconstructions of tombs and temples from ancient Aztec and Maya civilizations, along with artifacts from the Zapotec, Toltec, Teotihuacan, and Mexica cultures.

After the guided portion, participants will have free time to explore the museum at their own pace.
