Visit the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands & two of its most famous islands on this day trip to Stromboli and Panarea. You'll enjoy the tranquility of their fishing villages and witness a volcanic eruption.
Day Trip Details
Meet at Via Ammiraglio Luigi Rizzo at the scheduled time. We will then go to the pier and board a boat to the island of Panarea.
Cruising across the Tyrrhenian Sea, we will head to this second smallest island of the Aeolian archipelago. As we approach, view Cala Junco, known for the remains of an ancient settlement from the 14th century BC.
We'll disembark at the fishing port for 2.5 hours of free time to explore and enjoy local gastronomy. Afterward, we will continue to Stromboli, enjoying views of its great volcano and nearby islets like Basiluzzo, Lisca Bianca, Lisca Nera, and Bottaro.
In Stromboli, you will have another 2 hours of free time to visit the village. Explore its seaside neighborhood and notable churches. At Piazza San Vincenzo, find a viewpoint with views of Stromboli and Strombolicchio.
We will conclude the trip with a return to the boat, stopping for about 40 minutes to see the active eruption of the Stromboli volcano at nightfall, followed by arrival back at the port of Milazzo after approximately 10 hours.
Important Info
If Stromboli is in a red zone due to a volcanic activity alert and disembarkation is forbidden, we will adjust the itinerary to prioritize safety. This includes a longer stop at Panarea and a panoramic tour of Stromboli from the sea to view Strombolicchio and Sciara del Fuoco.
