Lima Food Tour
When booking, you can choose between the following options for a gastronomic tour of Lima. Both include tastings and an English-speaking guide. Below are the details of each tour:
Tour of the historic centre of Lima
In the morning, we'll meet in Miraflores next to the Cafeteria Terrua. The tour will begin with a discussion on the role of coffee in Peruvian society. After coffee tasting, we'll take the metro to the historic centre of Lima, with the first stop at the Central Market and Chinatown, where we'll taste recipes that fuse Chinese and Peruvian cuisines, along with traditional desserts and "chicha morada".
Next, we'll visit iconic places such as the Palacio de Congresos and the San Francisco Church. We will then head to the Taberna Cordano, where we'll enjoy Peruvian churros and stuffed potato, accompanied by Pisco Sour. The tour will conclude with a return to the Miraflores neighbourhood.
Miraflores & Surquillo Tour
We'll meet in the morning at the Cafeteria Terrua in Miraflores to start our food tour with a coffee tasting and an explanation about its importance. We will then visit the Surquillo Market to taste Peruvian fruits like lucuma and other traditional products, before proceeding to a local pastry shop for desserts made from market ingredients.
Later, we'll visit La Preferida in Miraflores to enjoy Peruvian ceviche and tapas made from seafood, served with a typical Peruvian drink. The tour will finish at a local café with a churro tasting.
