Cruise Overview

The journey commences at the arranged hour at the Douro International Biological Station dock, conveniently located near the Portuguese town of Miranda de Douro. Here, we embark on the boat that will guide us to various viewpoints and cascading waterfalls within this remarkable natural park.

As we navigate the waters, the crew will share insights about the unique geological features of the canyon. Our route will take us past the Líquenes Cliffs, the gateway to the national park, en route to the "Otter Pond", where you will become acquainted with the local plant species.

To observe the avian life within the Arribes del Douro, our voyage will include sailing through the territory inhabited by eagles and black storks, two of the most magnificent bird species in the region. We hope to catch a glimpse of these remarkable creatures!

Our adventure concludes at the Eagle Valley, recognized as one of the premier viewpoints in the Arribes del Douro park. You will then have the chance to step onto the boat's terrace to capture stunning photographs of the breathtaking landscape as we return to our starting point.

After approximately an hour and 15 minutes of canyon exploration, we will return to shore to indulge in a 30-minute tasting session of Porto's wines, providing a delightful conclusion to an unforgettable day in the Arribes del Douro!
