On this private safari in Udawalawe, we will observe Asian elephants along with other species such as buffaloes, jackals, and leopards in this southern Sri Lankan reserve.
Activity Details
At the designated time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Mirissa and drive to Udawalawe National Park for the safari.
In a 4x4 vehicle, we will traverse the landscapes of this protected area, known for its elephant population. Approximately 500 elephants reside in the reserve, and we may see them feeding and drinking in the open fields.
Other wildlife includes deer, wild boar, jackals, and wild buffalo. Sightings of the elusive leopard may occur, although these cats are primarily nocturnal.
You will enjoy the scenery of the reserve, including grassy fields, mountain ranges, and the Walawe River, which supports local wildlife.
On the return trip to Mirissa, we will stop at a local restaurant for you to have lunch on your own. We will drop you off at your hotel approximately 10 hours after pickup.
