Udawalawe National Park Safari

On this safari in Udawalawe, we will observe Asian elephants and other species like buffaloes, jackals, and potentially leopards.

At the scheduled time, you will be picked up at your hotel in Mirissa and driven to Udawalawe National Park for a safari.

Traveling in a 4x4 vehicle, we will explore this protected area, known for its large elephant population, approximately 500 individuals. We will observe Asian elephants in their natural habitat, including grazing and drinking.

The park also houses deer, wild boar, jackals, and wild buffalo. Sightings of the elusive leopard may occur, though they are more active at night.

Throughout the journey, you will appreciate the park’s diverse landscapes, including grassy fields, mountain ranges, and the Walawe River, which is essential for the local ecosystem.

On the return trip to Mirissa, there will be a stop at a local restaurant for lunch on your own. You will be dropped off back at your hotel approximately 10 hours after the pickup.
