Tour Details
You will be picked up from your hotel at the specified time for a private tour of Guatemala City. The first stop will be the Plaza de la Constitución, where you can view the façade of the Guatemala City Cathedral, a neoclassical structure from the 18th century that has undergone restorations due to the earthquakes of 1917, 1918, and 1976. Inside, you can observe the impact of these events as well as a historic pipe organ.
The tour continues at the National Palace, showcasing a mix of Neo-Plateresque, Spanish Baroque, and Renaissance styles. Next, you will visit the Civic Centre, known for events related to its designation as the Ibero-American Capital of Culture in 2015.
The final stop is the Ixchel Museum of Indigenous Textiles and Clothing, featuring a collection of typical costumes, ceramics, jewellery, and books, along with an exploration of the huipil.
