The National Palace, the Ixchel Museum, and other attractions are featured in this private tour of Guatemala City, a significant destination in Central America.
Tour Details
At the scheduled time, you will be collected from your hotel for a private tour of Guatemala City. The first stop will be the Plaza de la Constitución, where we will view the façade of the Guatemala City Cathedral, an 18th-century neoclassical structure that has been restored multiple times due to the earthquakes of 1917, 1918, and 1976. Inside, you can observe the impact of these earthquakes and a historic pipe organ.
Next, we will visit the National Palace, which showcases a blend of Neo-Plateresque, Spanish Baroque, and Renaissance architectural styles. After this, we will head to the Civic Centre, which was significant during 2015 when Guatemala City was designated as the Ibero-American Capital of Culture.
The tour will conclude at the Ixchel Museum of Indigenous Textiles and Clothing, featuring an extensive collection of typical costumes, ceramics, jewellery, and books. You will learn about the huipil during this visit.
After 4 hours of exploration, you will be returned to your hotel.
