History, mysticism, culture, and gastronomy feature in this alternative tour of Guatemala City. We'll explore the country's capital and taste Guatemalan cuisine.

Description

Join us for a fascinating alternative tour of Guatemala City! We'll pick you up at your hotel at the indicated time and set off on a bus to explore the capital city's highlights.

Our journey begins in Las Majadas, known for its Asian community. Next, we'll visit the Kaminaljuyu ruins, an ancient Maya city from 1200 BC, where we will learn about its history and admire the archaeological site from the exterior, including remarkable ceramics and sculptures found there.

After the archaeological site, we will stop at the Museo Miraflores to see a large collection of pieces found at the site.

Then, we'll head north to the Relief Map of Guatemala, a model depicting the country's terrain from the early 20th century. Our next stop is the Cerrito del Carmen, where a Catholic church has been rebuilt three times. We will then visit the historic center of Guatemala City to admire the Metropolitan Cathedral exterior and continue to the Miraflores Museum for the Maya exhibit.

We will enjoy traditional Guatemalan cuisine at a local restaurant, with a refreshing drink. Energized, we'll stroll along 6th Avenue to Plaza Berlín for a panoramic view of the mountains and volcanoes. After between 7 and 8 hours, we will return to the starting point.
