Discover Guatemala's history with this detailed tour of Guatemala City and Antigua Guatemala, exploring both the old colonial town and the modern side of Guatemala.

Guatemala History Tour

Pickup will be from your hotel in Guatemala City at 8 am, heading to the old colonial town of Guatemala. After about an hour, we will arrive in the center of Antigua Guatemala, starting at Central Park where we will visit the Palacio de Los Capitanes Generales, the old city council, and San José Church.

There will be an opportunity for photos beside the Fountain of the Mermaids, built in 1739. Following this, we will tour the Second Cathedral, noting its baroque facade and smooth columns.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant (not included), after which we will continue to the modern city to tour Guatemala City. We will walk along Avenida Las Américas to the city center to view governmental buildings including the Supreme Court, Finance Ministry, city council, and Bank of Guatemala.

Finally, we will explore the Plaza Mayor de la Constitución and the Catedral Metropolitana, before returning to hotels in Guatemala City around 5:30 pm.
