Modena Guided Tour

We'll meet in Piazza Grande to begin our tour of Modena and its historic downtown area.

Our first stop is the Modena Cathedral, an example of Roman architecture in Italy. We will admire its facade and focus on the Ghirlandina Tower, a symbol of Modena. With our guide, we will learn details about these monuments, which were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997.

Next, we will stroll the downtown streets, learning more about the city's history. Piazza Roma highlights the city's past, particularly the Ducal Palace, which houses Modena's Military Academy.

This city is rich in legends. Throughout the tour, we will discuss the significance of vinegar in Modena's culture, its connection to Duke Francis V of Habsburg-East, and the local appreciation for Luciano Pavarotti.

After 1.5 hours exploring the city's historic streets, we will return to the starting point to conclude the tour.
