Modena Private Tour
Modena is internationally known for its famous vinegar, but there is much more to the city than this. We will meet up in Piazza Grande square to start our private tour of the historic center.
From there, we will see the façade of the Modena cathedral and the elegant Civic Tower which are protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The tower, also known as Ghirlandina, stands at almost 300 feet high and is an icon of Modena.
We will visit the interior of the Cathedral to discover the secrets of this Romanesque jewel, considered one of the most significant temples in Italy. We will also discuss San Gimignano and his importance in the city's history.
Back in the square, we will visit the sculpture of Bonissima and the various theories and legends regarding this figure. We will then walk to the Albinelli market to learn about Modena's cuisine, including information on Parmesan cheese and regional vinegar.
We will proceed through the Jewish quarter and view the synagogue and the Palazzo Ducale di Modena, admiring their intricate facades.
We will end the private tour by returning to the Piazza Grande square after a two-hour walk.
