El Tigre Waterfalls Hike

On this trip to El Tigre Waterfalls, we will explore Monteverde's wild side with hiking, horseriding, and ziplining.

Tour Options

Two options are available for booking, both including hotel pickup and drop-off, an English-speaking guide, an admission ticket to El Tigre Waterfalls, and lunch. Each tour lasts 5 hours. Here are the options:

Hiking & Horseriding

On arrival at El Tigre Waterfalls, you will learn how to access the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve hiking trail. The hike covers the first 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) where you will cross several hanging bridges and visit 4 waterfalls ranging from 15 to 30 metres high (50-98 feet), with opportunities to swim in natural pools.

Following this, you will mount horses for a 3-kilometre (1.8 miles) ride to the summit, where scenic views of Arenal, Rincón de la Vieja, Tenorio, and Miravalles volcanoes await. Bring your cameras.

Hiking & Horseriding + Bicycle Zipline

Choosing this option includes the same hikes and horse rides as previously mentioned, followed by a visit to El Tigre Waterfalls Bicycle Zipline. After gearing up, you will ride a bicycle along zipline cables over 70 metres high (230 feet), enjoying remarkable views of the forest and waterfalls during the 500-metre (0.3-mile) ride.
