Montepulciano & Pienza Tour

We'll meet at Montepulciano's Piazza Grande to begin the tour of this Italian hill town.

From the central square, we'll admire the façade of the Santa Assunta Cathedral, the Palazzo Comunale, and the Well of the Griffins and Lions. We will stroll through the old town, visiting the Madonna di San Biagio Sanctuary to observe its exterior and discuss its significance in Tuscan Renaissance architecture.

Next, we will enter an underground cellar to taste the local Montepulciano Vino Nobile wine, one of Italy's oldest wine denominations.

After the tasting, we will board a minibus to drive through the Orcia Valley to Pienza, recognized as an ideal Renaissance town for its elegant buildings and classical street layout.

We will walk through Pienza's UNESCO-protected historic centre, viewing the Pienza Cathedral, Piccolomini and Borgia palaces, and more. The tour includes a tasting of delicious pecorino cheese.

The tour concludes with our return to the starting point after 3 hours.
