Montepulciano & Pienza Tour

At the scheduled time, we'll see you in Montepulciano's Piazza Grande to start our tour of this Italian hill town.

From the central square, we'll admire the façade of the Santa Assunta Cathedral, the Palazzo Comunale, and the Well of the Griffins and Lions. Afterwards, we'll stroll past the Renaissance palaces in the old town until we reach the Madonna di San Biagio Sanctuary. We'll observe its exterior and discuss its representation of Tuscan Renaissance architecture.

Nearby, we'll visit an underground cellar to taste the local Montepulciano Vino Nobile wine, one of the oldest wines in Italy.

After the wine tasting, we'll board a minibus and drive through the Orcia Valley to Pienza, known as an ideal Renaissance town. This nickname reflects the elegance of its buildings and street layout based on classical ideas.

We'll walk through the historic centre, protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. During our walk, we'll see the façade of the Pienza Cathedral, the Piccolomini and Borgia palaces, and we'll also taste some delicious pecorino cheese.

Our tour will conclude upon our return to the starting point after a 3-hour tour.
