Pecorino Cheese and Wine Tour

The tour meets at 1 pm in the Montepulciano piazza Grande, where we welcome you aboard the minibus and begin the tour. Crossing the Orcia Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll arrive at our first stop, a cheesemaker in the Pienza region, known for producing one of the most famous varieties of pecorino cheese in Italy.

At the cheesemaker, we'll learn about the artisans dedicated to this Tuscan delicacy. Every step of the production process, from caring for the sheep to the tasting, will be explored. A tasting session will help us differentiate the various types of pecorino.

Next, we will visit a winery in Montepulciano. The region is known for nobile wine, which has a protected denomination and is one of Italy's oldest varieties. We will explore the winery where this wine is made and aged, followed by a tasting of this and another variety for comparison.

The tour concludes back at the starting point at 4 pm.
