Why see the Montevideo Carnival?

We'll meet at the entrance of Tablado Primero de Mayo, the venue for the Montevideo Carnival show. The Montevideo Carnival is one of the longest in the world, lasting about 40 consecutive nights. This event fills Uruguay's capital with life and color.

During the show, there will be performances by 5 different types of artistic groups: murgas, comedians, parodists, revistas, and comparsas. These groups perform at open-air venues known as tablados, central to the carnival's cultural heritage.

Experience between 3 and 6 different shows, in Spanish, outside of tourist areas for an authentic glimpse into local carnival culture.

The event will last between 3-5 hours.
