Montevideo Tour

After collecting you from your hotel at the indicated time, we will start our guided walking tour of the Old City in the heart of Montevideo. We will stroll through the historic quarter and admire the blend of European architecture and Latin culture which fills the streets.

We will browse the street stalls that characterize the historic center of Uruguay's capital (only on weekends). In these open-air markets, you will find typical food from the region, fresh fruit, jewelry, books, paintings, and souvenirs. Our tour also includes a visit to the Port Market to taste the local gastronomy.

We will visit the Montevideo Metropolitan Cathedral, Plaza Independencia (Independence Square), and 18 de Julio Avenue, before arriving at the Legislative Palace. Inaugurated in 1925 by architect Cayetano Moretti, it is considered one of the most beautiful palaces of congress in the world. Next, we head to the Farmer's Market, where you have free time to browse local produce at your own pace. We then move on to Estadio Centenario, the home of the Uruguay national football team, recognized by FIFA as a historic monument to World Football.

Our tour continues at Batlle Park and then to residential neighborhoods such as Carrasco, surrounded by nature. We finish the tour by heading back to your hotel via La Rambla, a 14-mile avenue along the coastal estuary, where you will see local life, including cyclists, fishermen, and yachts lining the wharves.
