Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert Day Trip

We'll meet at 9 am at the Mosson tram station in Montpellier and travel by minibus to Hérault. There you'll find Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, a medieval village in the region.

Before visiting this village, we'll take a tour of the surrounding area. First, we'll visit a pottery workshop and then stop at a viewpoint to admire the gorges of the area.

The excursion continues to Salagou Lake, where you'll have time for lunch while admiring the Hérault valley. The next stop will be at the Pont du Diable, a stone footbridge built in the Middle Ages and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.

After the bridge, we'll take a guided tour of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and learn about the Gellone Abbey, part of the French Way of St. James.

At 5 pm, we'll return to the starting point in Montpellier.
