On this guided tour of Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End, you'll explore why these neighborhoods are popular among locals.
Description
We will meet at the Institut de Tourisme et d'Hôtellerie du Québec, next to Sherbrooke metro station, to start the guided tour of Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End. The tour aims to capture the essence of Montreal.
Plateau Mont-Royal, also known as Le Plateau, is noted for its multicultural nature. During the tour, we will learn about Montreal's immigration history and view the Victorian-style architecture of its colorful houses and street art murals.
Historically, Plateau Mont-Royal was a bohemian neighborhood, but this title has shifted to Mile End, our next destination.
Mile End is said to be inspired by a similar neighborhood in London. During our walk, you'll discover why it has become one of the locals' favorite places, including its notable vintage shops. Additionally, you will see the Rialto Theatre, reminiscent of the Opéra Garnier in Paris.
After 3 hours of sightseeing, the tour will conclude in the area around Waverly and Saint-Viateur Street.
