On this guided tour of Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End, you'll discover why they are two of the locals' favourite neighbourhoods. This is an opportunity to explore the cultural and bohemian side of Montreal.
Description
At the chosen time, the tour starts at the Institut de Tourisme et d'Hôtellerie du Québec, adjacent to the Sherbrooke metro station. You will immerse yourself in the essence of Montreal.
Plateau Mont-Royal, known as Le Plateau, is noted for its multicultural characteristics. The streets here reflect Montreal's immigration history, showcasing Victorian-style architecture, colourful houses, and street art murals.
Historically, Plateau Mont-Royal was a bohemian neighbourhood, a title now held by Mile End, which is the next stop.
Mile End is said to take inspiration from its namesake in London. During the walk, you will see why it’s a favourite area for locals. The presence of vintage shops contributes to its charm, along with the Rialto Theatre, reminiscent of the Opéra Garnier in Paris.
After 3 hours of exploring, the tour concludes in the vicinity of Waverly and Saint-Viateur Street.
