On this guided tour of Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End, you'll explore some of Montreal's most appreciated neighborhoods, focusing on the cultural aspect of the city.
Description
We'll meet at the Institut de Tourisme et d'Hôtellerie du Québec next to the Sherbrooke metro station to begin the tour of the Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End neighborhoods.
Plateau Mont-Royal, also known as Le Plateau, is noted for its multicultural environment. The tour will include the Victorian-style architecture, colorful houses, and street art murals, while highlighting Montreal's immigration history.
Fun fact: Plateau Mont-Royal was traditionally a bohemian neighborhood, now surpassed by Mile End, our next stop.
Mile End draws inspiration from its namesake in London, and during the walk, you'll see why it is favored by locals. The area features vintage shops and includes the Rialto Theatre, reminiscent of the Opéra Garnier in Paris.
After 3 hours of sightseeing, we'll conclude the tour around Waverly and Saint-Viateur Street.
