On this guided tour of Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End, you'll discover why they are two of the locals' favourite neighbourhoods. This is the best way to explore the cultural and bohemian side of Montreal.
Description
At the indicated time, we will meet at the Institut de Tourisme et d'Hôtellerie du Québec, next to the Sherbrooke metro station, to begin this guided tour of the Plateau Mont-Royal and Mile End neighbourhoods. Prepare to experience the essence of Montreal.
Plateau Mont-Royal, also known as Le Plateau, is characterised by its multicultural nature. We will learn about Montreal's immigration history while observing the Victorian-style architecture of its colourful houses and street art murals.
Fun fact: years ago, Plateau Mont-Royal was a bohemian neighbourhood, but this title now belongs to Mile End, our next stop.
Mile End is inspired by its namesake neighbourhood in London. During the walk, you will see why it has become one of the locals' favourite places. The vintage shops are a highlight. You will also see the Rialto Theatre, reminiscent of the Opéra Garnier in Paris.
After 3 hours of sightseeing, we will conclude the guided tour around Waverly and Saint-Viateur Street.
