Excursion to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe & Lake Camécuaro
Your adventure begins with a 7 am pickup from your accommodation in Morelia, after which we will head towards Lake Camécuaro.
At this picturesque lake, you will be granted three hours of leisure to explore the surroundings adorned with junipers, oaks, shrubs, and conifers. If you wish to cool off, feel free to dive into the inviting crystal-clear waters. This area was once home to the Purepecha civilization, and local legend suggests the lagoon was created from the tears of Princess Huanita!
Following your time at the lake, we will continue our journey to Zamora de Hidalgo, where you will have an hour to wander at your own pace. Afterward, we will embark on a guided visit to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, renowned for its striking twin towers that rise over 100 meters, marking it as Mexico's tallest church.
While touring this exquisite neo-Gothic structure, you will notice the trio of pointed arches that enhance its façade. Inside, you will discover eight chapels, an elegant transept vault, and the cherished image of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
Your excursion will conclude with a return to your hotel in Morelia by 5 pm.
