Tacámbaro & Alberca de Chupio Tour

At 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Morelia and set off for the Magical Town of Tacámbaro.

First, we'll stop at the Magdalena Lagoon, a lake surrounded by a dense coniferous forest. You may swim if you wish.

Next, we'll visit the Chapel of María Magdalena, a 16th-century church associated with Governor Cristóbal de Oñate, used by Augustinian monks for missionary work.

We'll then continue into the centre of Tacámbaro, passing through the Plaza del Santo Niño and viewing the Cathedral, the Church of Fátima, and the Church of Guadalupe. You will have an hour of free time for lunch to try local delicacies.

Afterwards, we’ll proceed to Alberca de Chupio, a volcanic crater just 3 kilometers from the town. While exploring the lake, we will discuss the legend of the Combate de las Flores, related to King Tacamba and Purepecha customs.

After relaxing in this area, we will return to Morelia, arriving at your hotel by 7 pm.
