Teremendo de los Reyes & Alberca Tour

At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Morelia and head to Teremendo de los Reyes.

During the exploration of this town, we will learn about its Purepecha roots and its foundation by Bishop Vasco de Quiroga. We will visit the Church of the Holy Kings and its bell tower while discussing the festivity every 6th of January in honour of the Three Wise Men.

We will stroll through the narrow streets lined with adobe and tile houses, before visiting an artisan bakery to see the traditional bread-making process.

You will have an hour of free time for lunch. Afterwards, we will embark on a 20-minute walk to the Alberca de Morelia, one of Michoacán's three volcanic lakes.

We will learn about the origins of this volcanic crater lake while observing the surrounding white sapote trees, ash trees, cacti, and oaks. The water color changes seasonally from dark brown to emerald green.

Finally, we will return to Morelia, arriving at your hotel by 6 pm.
